Then a role in Clinical Research Education might be for you.
Working with the established Clinical Education Team, the post holder will be a visible role model sharing demonstrable skills, providing ‘hands on’ clinical support to staff to achieve the necessary skills and competence to undertake their roles within research. The post holder will be working in collaboration with fellow educators to deliver a consistent and dynamic learning environment for our registered and non-registered clinical colleagues. You will work clinically alongside staff at all levels to facilitate and support the achievement of competencies relevant to their role. This will ensure that the education and development needs of the research workforce are identified and addressed using approved, proven and reliable methods.
The Haemato-Oncology research team is dedicated to deliver complex Haemato-Oncology trials, based mainly at the Sutton site of RM. We have a track-record of delivering trials from First-in-Human, Phase I through to Phase II, and onwards to Phase III. Delivery is facilitated through scheduled care, standardised documentation for data capture and sample processing.
As a Clinical Research Educator, you will;
Support the research related training needs of the nursing staff within the relevant research departments, including both inpatient and outpatient areas.
To provide education and assessment in venepuncture, cannulation and accessing central venous access devices.
To provide education and assessment of SACT. To be knowledgeable of any treatment/drug regimens in progress providing problem solving skills to members of the team.
To advise on feasibility questions, trial set up, and infusion guides for inpatient and outpatient care settings.

Provide education and training for nurses and HCSWs, both existing and new to Haemato-Oncology Research.
Regularly assess and review progress towards competence and give feedback to both the lead nurses, and haematology practice educator.
Maintain accurate and up to date records on staff training and support required.
To ensure that nurses and HCSW are aware of the location of both online and ward-based learning resources and know how to access evidence to inform their practice and knowledge around clinical trials
