Clinical Research Fellow in Early Pregnancy (Gynaecology)

This post is designed for candidates at ST3 level and above who wish to obtain a postgraduate degree (PhD or equivalent). The post would be initially for two years with the option of extending for another year subject to satisfactory review at six months.
The candidate will work under the supervision of Ms Jessica Farren and Prof Davor Jurkovic on developing original research projects on the diagnosis and management of ectopic pregnancy and other early pregnancy complications. These studies are expected to lead to publications in international peer-review journals and form the basis of the candidate’s PhD thesis.
The successful candidate will work on developing original research projects on the aetiology of miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy. In addition, the candidate will be expected to help with the organization and running or multicentre randomized clinical trails, which are part of clinical research activity in the Unit.

LEAVE ENTITLEMENT:

The appointment carries an annual leave entitlement of 32 days (inc statutory days) (pro-rata)
The candidate will be expected to work 9am-5pm (variable) with on-call responsibilities for the out of hours for O&G service offered.
