Clinical Research Manager (Fixed Term)

The University of Cambridge wishes to appoint an enthusiastic Clinical Research Manager in Rare Diseases to join the Cambridge Clinical Mitochondrial Research Group (MitoCAMB: https://www-neurosciences.medschl.cam.ac.uk/mitocamb/) in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences. MitoCAMB is a team of clinicians and PI’s (with affiliated research laboratories), focussed on understanding the genetic basis and mechanisms of mitochondrial diseases, and other rare inherited neurological disorders.
The MitoCAMB team was recently awarded a £7.5 million LifeArc Translational Rare Disease Centres Award for the next 5 years. With Cambridge as the lead site, and working with our partners at UCL, the University of Newcastle, the Lily Foundation and MDUK, our aim is to establish a national platform to translate novel treatment strategies and biomarkers into clinical trials. This platform will improve mitochondrial disease diagnosis nation-wide, connecting patient groups, knowledge and infrastructure to accelerate the clinical translation of new treatments.
The role holder will be based on the Cambridge Biomedical campus and will work alongside our friendly and multidisciplinary clinical and laboratory team to oversee a range of investigative and longitudinal clinical research studies and clinical trials (both commercial and academic-led). Not only will the post holder be key to the effective running of the group’s clinical research studies, they will assist the programme manager and PI’s with delivering and reporting on key milestones for the rare disease centre. In addition, the post-holder will be responsible for line managing other team members.
