POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Transgender Youth Clinic within the Division of Adolescent Medicine at SickKids is participating in a multi-site study entitled Identifying and Examining Health Outcomes and Healthcare Utilization Among Transgender Adolescents and Youth Accessing Gender-Affirming Care in Ontario: A Mixed- Methods Study. This study will be the first in Canada to identify transgender adolescents and youth within population-based health administrative data and investigate their health outcomes and healthcare utilization patterns. Most studies focused on transgender health rely on self-reported cross-sectional survey data and on snowball and other respondent-driven sampling strategies which may not be representative of the larger transgender population. This study represents a unique opportunity to utilize administrative health data, reducing bias by circumventing the issue of non-response and avoiding self-reported health outcomes. The project is funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).
We are currently looking for a Clinical Research Project Assistant with excellent communication skills, comfort working with this population, and experience in research to support study data extraction and management.
Responsibilities:
- Organize study documents for paper and electronic back-ups
- Maintain RedCap database up to date
- Data extraction from the electronic medical record
- Check data for accuracy and completeness; re-entry and data checking
- Liaise with other study sites and primary study team at CAMH
