Description:

1.0 FTE; Monday – Friday, business hours. Some weekends may be required. Work locations include 490 Mississippi (office, primary location), 200 University (secondary location), and outlying clinics, depending on Research Department needs. Opportunities for remote work as appropriate
The incumbent in this position will serve as an integral member of the research team and will assist investigators to conduct all aspects of the project including but not limited to clinical research evaluations, sensory/behavioral assessments, physiological assays and specimens as well as perform database management, analyses, and write for dissemination including conference posters and paper as well as scientific publication. The individual in this position will work closely in collaboration with the Clinical Research Coordinator and under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI) and supervisor to perform work according to study protocols.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Critical thinking skills
  • Able to take initiative and perform job responsibilities at an independent level
  • Able to communicate with and facilitate a busy clinical research team with multiple clinical and research responsibilities
  • Strong attention to detail, evidence of scientific dissemination experience
  • Ability to perform detailed tasks systematically and independently
  • Working knowledge of basic statistics to perform descriptive and inferential data analyses
  • Proficient computer skills (use of Microsoft products such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Capable of prioritizing multiple projects
  • Familiarity with human subjects research, regulatory requirements, IRB process and rules pertaining to research, confidentiality, and HIPAA
  • Knowledge of and experience with statistical software packages (e.g., SPSS, MATLAB, etc.).
