Description:

Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Technician based within the NIHR Imperial Clinical Research Facility (ICRF) at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Hammersmith Hospital.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to accurately process and record samples from participants in clinical research studies run at the ICRF. This is a critical role as it ensures the validity of the data, and ultimately the outcome of the studies.
You should have a qualification in a scientific discipline or equivalent vocational qualification, and hands-on experience of processing laboratory samples. You should possess excellent communication skills, be highly motivated, possess good team working skills, have experience of working to tight deadlines, be proactive and be able to undertake tasks using your initiative.
Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) is desirable.
The NIHR Imperial CRF (ICRF) provides a designated facility for researchers to conduct clinical researcher studies involving both patient and healthy volunteers. As an ICRF Clinical Research Technician the post holder will have knowledge of a range of pre-analytical processing procedures and will be responsible for overseeing the processing and storage of clinical trial samples to the highest standard. This includes: receiving, sorting, labelling and processing samples; resolving issues such as mislabelled or missing specimens, performing pre-analytical processes, maintaining study data documentation, performing scheduled internal audits, performing quality control checks on routine equipment, dealing with enquiries and preparing weekly laboratory work schedules.
The post holder will be expected to operate with minimal supervision in organising and planning their own work activities.
