JOB SUMMARY:
The Division of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a motivated individual for a full-time position as a Research Services Clinical Science Professional within the Pulmonary Translational Core (PTraC).
We are seeking talented applicants with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and a strong interest in improving the lives of people with acute and chronic lung diseases. As the primary clinical/translation research core within the Pulmonary Division, PTraC is composed of 4 sub-cores focused on Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, Regulatory Affairs, Lung Tissue Biorepository and Clinical Coordination. PTraC clinical coordinators will assist with all aspects of human subjects’ research.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in science or health related field.
- One (1) to three (3) years of clinical research or related experience.
- Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g. EMR or EHR and data management systems).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
- Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.

Responsibilities:
- Regulatory/Clinical Research Core Management:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of PTraC.
- Work with divisional/PTraC leadership to develop a sustainable and longitudinal financial and activity plan.
- Create, manage, and maintain PTraC policies and procedures and other operational documents.
- Work with division administrator to ensure budget is managed and tracked appropriately throughout the year, including connecting with division administrator about invoicing and other PTraC related contracts.
- Acts as administrator point person for PTraC faculty and research staff including direct supervision of PTraC employees, purchase management, travel reimbursement, etc.
- Work with division administrator to prepare budgets and annual planning.
- Biorepository Duties:
- Work with the PTraC Director to develop a biorepository of tissue and cells from explanted lungs.
- Organize a mechanism for storage and retrieval of tissues and cells from the biorepository.
