Knowledge of legislation, standards and safety principles relating to the relevant area. In depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Good report writing and presentation skills, including the production of scientific papers, reports and conference presentations. Knowledge of governance issues including ethical and regulatory considerations.
Ability to give technical advice to colleagues, senior clinicians and other health professionals. Ability to carry out research and development work as part of a team. Teaching, training and mentoring skills. The ability to undertake complex calculation, data analysis and to issue reports on quantitative techniques.
To communicate highly complex procedures in simple terms to patients, their relatives and other health care professionals. To communicate highly complex, scientific, mathematical, statistical and regulatory knowledge and advice to medical staff, other clinical scientists and medical technologists. To provide accurate written reports of investigations performed. Communicate sensitive information and tests results only to appropriate staff.
