Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of high-quality simulation-based education within our Nursing Program. This position is instrumental in preparing, maintaining, and ensuring the effective operation of the Clinical Simulation Lab, thereby enhancing the learning experience for students and academic staff, and contributing to their success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare laboratory equipment, supplies, and materials for practical sessions (setting up simulation manikins, IV setups, medication administration stations, and other tools).
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain an organised laboratory environment (proper disposal of biohazardous materials, sterilization of equipment, and adherence to infection control procedures)
- Perform routine maintenance checks on laboratory equipment to ensure functionality and safety; Report any malfunctions for repair or replacement.
- Assist with debriefing sessions following simulation activities, facilitating discussions among participants and reinforce learning objectives in a safe and constructive learning environment
- Ensure adherence to best practices and standards for simulation-based education; Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness
- Provide training and technical support to faculty, staff, and students on the use of simulation equipment and technology
- Maintain accurate records of simulation activities, including scenario development, participant performance, and equipment maintenance; Generate reports for program evaluation and accreditation purposes
