Band 6 - 37.5 hours - Permanent
We are currently looking to recruit a Clinical Skills Facilitator within our District Nursing service. You will work across all 5 neighborhoods including the Out of Hours Service supporting the clinical skills development of all staff including new starters.
You will be working alongside a multi-skilled team of community practitioners led by Specialist Practitioners in District Nursing delivering nursing care to a diverse population.
As a Clinical Skills Facilitator you must be able to demonstrate effective leadership skills, have the ability to problem solve and provide ongoing support to members of the team. You must be able to demonstrate sound clinical knowledge and the ability to apply evidenced based practice.

The post holder will be responsible for the clinical skills development of the District Nursing service and the Community Rotation Programme providing a robust and comprehensive induction to support transition/enhancement into clinical practice. You will ensure staff complete the Trusts corporate training within the proposed timeframe and report to Education Training and Development. You will work alongside the Practice Educator/Team Leaders and Matron planning your diary to provide a cohesive & consistent approach supporting improvement of clinical skills.
You are responsible for mainlining clear lines of communication with achievement of progress identifying and reporting any difficulties with the process to the appropriate manager.

EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT

Comply with mandatory competencies in line with Trust policy.
To engage in a preceptorship period that includes achieving the Nursing Associate Medicines Management Competency framework.
Maintain own continuing professional development in accordance with NMC CPD requirements and contribute to formulation of own objectives and personal development plan.
Support, supervise, teach (where appropriate) and act as a role model to trainee nursing associates, student nurses, healthcare support workers and new staff members, promoting reflection and providing constructive feedback.
Contribute to the maintenance of the learning environment.
Adopt a reflective approach to own practice with a view to continually improve.
Undertake further training as required, prior to carrying out any additional duties identified as relevant to role, to comply with Trust policies and procedures.
