Description:
The Critical Care & Surgical Therapy team at Peterborough City hospital consists of a combination of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Technicians and Assistants who are committed to joint working to deliver a high quality service. We are looking for a Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist to join us.
If you are enthusiastic and motivated with a passion Respiratory, Surgery, Cardiac and Critical Care environments, this exciting role could be for you. Experience of working as a Band 6 in at least 2 of these areas is essential. The successful candidate should role model excellent leadership skills and have a drive to move services forward, promoting therapy and work closely and collaboratively with the Team lead to deliver the Respiratory Therapy service.
The role involves;
Networking with Clinical specialists within other fields and throughout the NWA Trust to streamline and progress services.
To work closely with the wider MDT on Critical Care to develop OT service provision in Critical Care, including early rehab, orientation and functional rehab.
Assisting the MDT, including therapists with the rehabilitation, discharge planning or onward referrals of complex patients on the wards.
Taking an active role in and support the skill development of staff working on our wards, including junior OT staff and Degree Apprentice
Healthcare is a 7 day service and therefore the expectation will be for you to support weekend working.
This post attracts the Trust welcome bonus of £1000 payable in one instalment on commencement. Should you leave prior to 6 months you will be required to repay the full instalment, and should you leave within 12 and 18 months of employment you will be required to repay £500. Assesses and treats own specialist caseload of patients
Acts as the profession specific lead to support the Lead Therapist
Provides support and development to more junior staff
Undertakes audit and assisting with research
