Description:

Clinical Specialist Sonographer – Head & Neck Ultrasound Lead
This role is primarily a clinical principle radiographer post with specialist skills, knowledge and leadership. This role will undertake operational leadership of the Head & Neck ultrasound service based at Castle Hill Hospital. This will include liaising with the Head & Neck Clinicians and team.
This would include responsibility for managing staff, resources and activity and provide specialist advice as required in relation to the acute pathways. This role will be expected to assess, analyse and interpret complex situations including clinical, staff and operational issues.
In unpredictable situations, this role is responsible for making decisions to ensure continued service provision, in collaboration with the Radiology Manager, Ultrasound Manager and Consultant Practitioner Radiographers. This role will provide expert advice, tuition and service improvement in the specific specialist field of practice.
For the right candidate we may be able to make the post up to full time hours with additional B7 hours
The 0.5 WTE posts reflect the changing needs of the service. This post will have a specific area of responsibility for ultrasound services within Hull University Hospitals NHS Trust and will lead a team of enthusiastic individuals. The Clinical Specialist Radiographers work as a team supporting the Consultant Radiographer, Radiology Manager and Clinical Directors in the delivery of performance KPI’s, CRES schemes and a high quality diagnostic service.
This post will suit highly motivated experienced sonographers who are willing to face new challenges and objectives. The post requires leadership, organisation and communication skills as well as evidence of experience within the chosen specialty field.
All applicants must have current experience in head & neck ultrasound imaging.
The post holder is required to hold HCPC, NMC or GMC registration as a condition of employment.
All job offers will be subject to Agenda for Change terms and conditions. The post is a 24/7 flexible working contract. Core hours are within 8am – 6.00pm 7 days per week.
