Description:

The Centre for Education and Learning at Western Health is currently looking to employ Clinical Support Midwives (CSMs) in a permanent and temporary capacity to provide clinical support at both Joan Kirner and Bacchus Marsh campuses to early career midwives across all areas of the pregnancy continuum and support the clinical educators in the dissemination of education to the maternity units.
The CSM acts as a role model and professional resource in the context of contemporary, professional midwifery. Through positive role-modelling and clinical support, the CSM will work in collaboration with the Clinical Midwifery Educators to ensure that education makes it to the bedside and care provided is woman focused, and respects the rights, needs and expectations of the childbearing woman and her family.
The CSM team work a rotating roster and are expected to work across all areas of Maternity. Permanent night duty is available.

Responsibilities:

  • Be registered with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife
  • Have a minimum of three years’ experience as a Registered Midwife with advanced clinical knowledge and skill across the pregnancy continuum
  • Have a passion for support and preceptorship
  • Meet the selection criteria as per the Position Description
