JOB OVERVIEW

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the dynamic and creative Suffolk Learning Disability & Autism (LD & A) Specialist Service . Admin is a most valued part of the service and integral to a wider group of warm and welcoming ‘family’ of staff and managers who have been developing the service over the past 2 years and were pleased to recently receive a rating of GOOD by the CQC. The service covers the whole of Suffolk with 3 main community bases in Ipswich, Stowmarket and Bury St Edmunds.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions

Responsibilities:

MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB

The role is to provide full administrative support to the Learning Disability Liaison Team and the Team Leader at the LD West Team Ipswich Office including:

  • processing incoming referrals,
  • typing correspondence and reports,
  • preparing agendas and taking minutes at team meetings,
  • maintaining and uploading up to date information to the Trust database (full training will be given)
  • dealing with telephone queries etc.

    Whilst the work can be challenging, this is an excellent opportunity for the ideal candidate to gain experience within the NHS

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION AND MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

You should have good communication, inter-personal skills and full commitment to the care and wellbeing of patients. This post requires a confident, level-headed individual who can support a busy service in responding to changing priorities and delivering accurate work within tight deadlines.
As well as having a good standard of education, you should have relevant and recent administration experience as well as good typing skills. You must possess excellent time management skills, a positive approach and be able to remain calm under pressure. The ability to work on your own initiative and prioritise your own work is required, as is the capacity to be flexible and be able to travel to other sites if required.
