Description:

An opportunity has arisen, within the Radiology Department, for a part time Clinical Support Worker to work alongside our Radiographer in X-ray overnight, between midnight and 8am, two nights per week at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
This position will provide an exciting challenge for a dynamic and empathetic team player, with excellent communication skills and enthusiasm, who enjoys working within a hospital environment.
The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the Radiology team, working in the X-ray Department at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.
The main responsibilities will include receiving our patients into the department, accurately entering patient and examination data in to the Radiology IT system, answering the telephone, responding to queries from patients and supporting the Radiographer to undertake portable x-rays on the wards and in the Emergency Department.
Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but training will be given.
The 16 hours will be worked over two nights per week on a rolling two week rota between midnight and 8am. In week 1, the nights worked would be Thursday and Friday and in week 2, the nights worked would be Friday and Sunday. The successful applicant would also be expected to work on Bank Holidays where these fall on their rostered days.
The Trust operates from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
