Description:

“I’VE NEVER HEARD OF HEIDI”

Heidi was established in 2021 by Dr. Tom Kelly and co-founder Waleed Mussa. In 2023, we secured our $10 million Series A funding round, led by Blackbird, a leading VC in Australia. Heidi’s mission is to create an essential medical AI system that humanity can’t live without. We envision that by 2050, every clinician will rely on AI systems to ease administrative tasks and enhance the quality and accessibility of care for patients worldwide.
Currently, we offer a suite of tools that transform how patients interact with their healthcare practitioners, and how clinicians provide care. Heidi’s Scribe, for instance, transcribes consultations, generating clinical notes, documents, and outlining next-step actions. These tools are gradually being integrated into a platform poised to redefine healthcare delivery.
With your help, we plan to devise an architecture for elegant and safe AI patient engagement agents to extend a clinician’s zone of influence with their patients pre-, during, and post- a clinical visit. If you’re interested in powering meaningful and practicable AI advances, this may be the role you’ve been looking for.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

Initially, you will be involved in co-designing, experimenting, and eventually delivering a new experimental wellness retail health product. Initially, you will offer tele-health GP care, though we expect this to become in-person care also, eventually. As such, we are looking for Australian applicants.
Secondarily, you will work with our Machine Learning and Medical Knowledge teams to prompt engineer our separate AI transcription product (see: heidihealth.com), make templates for other clinicians, trouble-shoot errors, test brand new large language models, and be involved in their fine-tuning.
This is an exciting space, with foundation layer advancements made weekly. You will be many things, but you won’t be bored - we promise.
We are looking for someone to join us on a part-time basis initially, with a view to eventually become our full-time Clinician-In-Residence as volumes ramp.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Leverage your clinical expertise and domain knowledge in the development of a new wellness retail health product, aimed at enhancing collaboration between pharmacies and GPs.
  • Play a key role in the implementation of the aforementioned product by conducting tele-health GP consultations. This is expected to expand into in-person care in the future.
  • Develop and refine templates that aid clinicians during the onboarding process onto our AI medical transcription product (see: heidihealth.com).
  • Drive interdisciplinary healthcare technology projects as a leader and clinical subject matter expert.
  • Extract clinically relevant insights through data analysis.
  • Contribute to the development of features that enhance critical patient and clinician journeys.
  • Dedicate a minimum of 20 hours per week for project work, separate from your regular full-time clinical duties.

Also, working at Heidi is just great fun. Here are some of the perks of the role:

  • Enjoy flexible work in a 50% hybrid environment.
  • Enjoy an additional paid day off for your birthday and wellness days.
  • Have full gym access at our Melbourne location (Sydney to be confirmed).
  • Benefit from a generous personal development budget of $500 per annum.
  • Learn from some of the industry’s best engineers and creatives in a diverse team.
  • Become an owner with shares (equity) in the company - when Heidi wins, we all win.
  • Experience the rare chance to create a global impact as part of one of Australia’s leading health-tech startups.
  • If you make a quick impact, you’ll have the opportunity to fast-track your startup career
