Members of this department serve as trusted advisors to the top technical leadership in the organizations they support, including Chief Information Officers, Chief Information Security Officers, and program management leadership, and assist in addressing their most critical security challenges.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

MITRE’s Secure Enterprise and Cloud Architectures Department is a foundry for innovation and disruptive solutions. We provide subject matter expertise and consulting to Federal Government sponsors in enterprise-wide security architecture, with specific emphasis on cloud computing, zero trust architecture, 5G, and networking technologies. The department advances the state of cyber security while leveraging the functionality and cost efficiencies of advanced architectures and technologies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Policy, or related field and 5+ years applicable experience; or an equivalent combination of related education and work experience
  • Must be a US citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining a US government clearance
  • Experience with large enterprise and US Government IT operations, service delivery, and defensive cyber operations (DCO)
  • Familiarity implementing, developing, or managing systems using one of the predominant cloud service providers
  • Knowledge of cyber security principles and their application
  • Knowledge of cloud, networking, and/or enterprise architectures
  • Ability to work with others to solve challenging technical problems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preference given to qualified candidate with active clearance
  • Advanced degree in in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Policy, or related field
  • ISC2 certification
  • Appropriate cloud security certifications
  • Familiarity with zero trust principles

Responsibilities:

As a Cloud Cyber Security Engineer you will assist project teams and sponsors in performing:

  • Design secure cloud architectures and services while working with leading cloud service providers and important missions.
  • Analyze and develop enterprise architectures to provide or improve cyber security capabilities for various customers.
  • Design and implement cloud security solutions for multi-cloud access and operations, workload monitoring and analytics, and threat hunting.
  • Research, specify, and implement cloud-based cyber security tools, techniques, and procedures.
  • Apply knowledge of network architectures, sensor technologies, and cyber threats to provide customers with the capabilities to protect, detect, and respond to cyber-attacks directed against customer systems.
