Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Cloud Engineer Expert to join our team in Chantilly, VA. This position is Hybrid with the flexibility to work from home 2-3 days per week.
As an Expert Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible as part of a team of highly skilled professionals for designing, developing, testing and integration of a “from the ground up” new Microsoft Azure on-premises Enterprise IT datacenter supporting multiple DoD organizations. This is an outstanding opportunity to design and build a new greenfield on-premise Azure cloud solution.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or other related scientific or technical discipline is preferred. Work experience or industry certifications demonstrating technical proficiency may be substituted for education requirements
  • 12+ years of relevant experience
  • Minimum DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification required (CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, Sec+, CND, SSCP)
  • DoD 8570 Computing Environment certification within 6 months of hire
  • Experience implementing technical solutions using COTS security tools in complex cloud-based, on-premises, and hybrid environments. Demonstrated experience:
  • Architecting, designing, engineering, integrating, configuring, and deploying COTS solutions
  • Leading enterprise IT solution activities from conceptual design to deployment and sustainment
  • Understanding the data sets or information provided by COTS tools in support of the needs of the organization
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation, TerraForm, Azure ARM templates
  • Experience with implementation and transition of applications and data sets to cloud services

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years of experience architecting or engineering in Federal Government networks
  • Experience with cloud networking consulting, design, patterns, and implementation and in deploying solutions
  • Experience with the design and implementation of Zero Trust Architecture and related supporting third party products such as appgate
  • Experience designing and implementing cross domain solutions
  • Strong Azure Infrastructure experience
  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef and DevOps practices
  • One or more Cloud Certifications: Cloud Certified Solutions Architect, MCSE Cloud Platform and Infrastructure
  • Experience using DevOps concepts and tools, such as: GitHub, JIRA, Maven, Jenkins, Chef, Ansible, and Docker
  • Experience in environments implementing RMF and NIST 800-53 security controls

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Active Top Secret clearance adjudicated within the past 6 years.
  • Candidate must be open to CI poly.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 75%
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office.
  • The person in this position will need to be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of cloud architecture and designs of enterprise IT COTS solutions into geographically dispersed data centers
  • Provide technical oversight in the development of enterprise security architecture solutions
  • Lead technical engagement to assess client business and technical objectives, determine deliverables, evaluate risks, identify security design gaps and recommend implementation approaches
  • Align standards, frameworks and security with overall business and technology strategy
  • Create solutions that balance business requirements with information and cyber security requirements
  • Identify design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements
  • Ensure that designs are effective in delivering cyber security data and information to risk management dashboards
  • Lead and/or support the development of solution product costs for procurement
  • Work internally to develop strategic plans for architecture, engineering, integration, and dashboard
  • Report and provide feedback to senior management as required
  • Document, manage, and report on project risks and opportunities
