The DSS works with colleagues from other divisions and businesses across Thermo Fisher to drive collaborative solutions to customer challenges, helping to commercialize software projects by delivering end-to-end product, software and service capabilities which span complete scientific workflows.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Design, maintain, and improve quality, performance, scalability, and availability of production Software as a Service (SaaS) environments in the Amazon Web Services cloud.
  • Display detailed knowledge and experience with containerized environments to include EKS/ECS or Kubernetes.
  • Develop, automate, and implement standard methodologies for security, deployments, and disaster recovery.
  • Design protection of Data at Rest and in transit and Network Perimeter controls.
  • Proactively supervise services and respond to solve issues pertaining to AWS Cloud Infrastructure, System (Windows/LINUX/UNIX), Databases, Network, and SaaS applications.
  • Automate, implement, test, and operate advanced security techniques in compliance with industry standard methodologies.
  • Implement and handle automated network security, application security, auditing, and validation. Use attack tools to test for vulnerabilities.
  • Research and gain a detailed knowledge of attack vectors that may be used to exploit software. Partner with Corporate Information Security (CIS) teams to share ideas and implement corporate requirements.
  • Maintain processes, tools, and documentation in support of the customer environments.
  • Find opportunities to implement automation and carry through on implementation.
  • Plan and perform scheduled maintenance and product upgrades on SaaS applications on AWS.
  • Deploy new versions of Digital Science software to customer systems on Cloud.
  • Author and contribute to Infrastructure Documentation and Knowledgebase.
  • Experience with VPN and Network troubleshooting and design is a plus.
    The Position of TechOps Engineer requires at least a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field of study and a minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience.
