    The role:
    Due to ongoing transformation of Ampol’s Infrastructure Operations & Services, we are hiring for a Cloud Operations Engineer to contribute to long term initiatives and deliver high quality & reliable IT services for the internal Ampol business.
    The Cloud Operations Engineer will join a diverse & collaborative team and be responsible for the managing and optimising Cloud Computing (Azure), Storage, Virtualisation technologies, SaaS and PaaS services, and Cross Functional ITIL Services.
    Based in Alexandria, with available car parking and transport options, this is a Hybrid role with work from home flexibility.

Key Duties:

  • Ensure that installation, configuration, and maintenance activities are carried out in line with Ampol’s IT standards.
  • Ensure that operational aspects of IT are delivered to the business with the aim of ensuring full operational functionality is always maintained.
  • Respond to high priority and Major incidents/outages, maintain solid and continued communication with appropriate teams’ and coordinate the resolution.
  • Managing external service providers and ensuring internal and external adherence to, and execution of IT Service Management processes.
  • Capacity and performance management of IT systems.

About you:

  • Hands on Cloud services experience, particularly within Azure
  • Extensive experience in operating, managing and supporting IT infrastructure in a complex environment.
  • Broad knowledge of infrastructure services design and delivery including Cloud Computing, Storage, Virtualisation & Collaboration Technologies, and associated links to applications.
  • Relevant Microsoft Azure Certification desirable
  • Windows Technologies and Operating Systems (Messaging, DHCP, DNS, Azure, MDM Intune, SCOM, SCCM, Terminal Services etc.)
  • Strong vendor & stakeholder management capabilities, able to engage a diverse set of people
  • Proven experience of leading and/or mentoring, either in a technical projects/process improvement capacity, or team leadership.
  • Good communicator and the ability to facilitate discussions and workshops with end users, key stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Ability to construct arguments, to challenge positively and constructively, and to distinguish requests from underlying needs.
