ABOUT THE JOB CLOUD SOFTWARE ENGINEER

We have another Federal Government opportunity where the department is seeking several experienced Cloud Software Engineers for the Microsoft development stack. For these roles you need to be a passionate Software Engineer with a particular interest in cloud native development and infrastructure as code.
This is a 12-month contract role, with the possibility of a further 12 months extension. Head office is based in Canberra (ACT) and this is the preferred location however, flexible and remote working arrangements are available in NSW or VIC will be considered on a case-by-case basis against the business requirements of the client and the needs of the immediate work area.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Asure and Azure DevOps (ADO) pipeline automation
• CI/CD (Azure DevOps / GitHub / Jenkins) practises
• ASP.NET MVC / .NET Core
• JavaScript / Typescript
• Microsoft Web API / REST Architecture
• React, Vue or Angular
• SQL / Entity Framework
• Software Development Life Cycle and Agile methodologies.

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Other Cloud platforms (eg. AWS, GCP)) and Infrastructure as Code
• PowerShell, Git and Test automation

• At least 4 years’ experience in a Microsoft development environment.
• A solid understanding of software development principles using any language or toolset but preferably C#, JavaScript / TypeScript.
• Familiarity with Azure or other cloud technologies.
• Backend development experience using web API and SQL technologies.
• Automation of builds, tests and deployments (DevOps).
• Independence, motivation and timely production of high-quality work.
• Solid verbal, written and presentation communication skills between you and your team.
• A collaborative, problem solving attitude.
