If so, this just might be the right opportunity for you! As Club Receptionist, you are the first person our members will interact with upon their arrival to the Club. This position plays a vital role in setting the tone for each Member’s experience.
We are seeking a Club Receptionist to coordinate and provide services to our Club membership. You will work directly with our Club Concierge, members, and staff to ensure that exemplary customer service is being provided. Club services include operating a multiline telephone switchboard, answering all incoming calls/inquiries, taking dining reservations, or directing the member to the appropriate personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Answers incoming telephone calls, determines the purpose of calls, and directs calls to appropriate personnel.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking is commonplace, and organization is key while keeping a positive attitude.
  • Accepts restaurant dining and Club function reservations and enters into a computer-based (MembersFirst) reservation system in a timely and accurate manner, while keeping an eye on the upcoming days and events.
  • Welcomes and directs Members and Guests entering the Club.
  • Performs other clerical duties as needed such as word processing, filing, photocopying, and collating.
  • Creating and Printing Catering Menus, Place Cards, and Table Numbers.
  • Maintains appearance of reception and office supply area.
  • Must be available to work holidays.

Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience in a high-end private Club or Hotel, preferred.
  • Experience with Canva or other graphic design tools is a must.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Members First.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and can quickly adapt to changes while maintaining high levels of productivity and effectiveness under pressure.
  • Always maintain positive Member relations.

  • Must have a professional demeanor, a gracious attitude, and a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all departments, team members, and vendors.

  • Must be able to talk and hear in person and by telephone.
  • Must use hands to operate, finger, handle, and/or feel office equipment.
  • Must reach with hands and arms.
  • Work is performed in a professional office setting utilizing telephone, computer, and other office equipment.
  • While performing duties of this class, the employee is required to work on multiple concurrent tasks with constant interruptions, read and interpret documents and information; use oral communication skills; interact with Royal Poinciana team members, Membership, the general public, and others encountered in the course of work.
  • Ability to perform first aid CPR while utilizing emergency equipment.
  • Move or lift objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb, crawl, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, and/or pull.
  • Communication, includes: reading, hearing, and talking with team members and Members.
  • Must have close, distance, peripheral, and color vision, along with the ability to adjust focus.
