We are currently looking for a student co-op to join our Service and Repair Quality Engineering team in the Richmond Hill, Ontario office. This is a full-time opportunity involving 40 hours per week; hourly payrate is $22.00. Placement is for 16 months (May 2024 - September 2025). Student must be enrolled in a formal co-op program at an Ontario-based college or university.

As a Service Quality Engineer Intern under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager, you will support the Quality department and promote quality improvements through activities that may include but not necessarily limited to, (1) Support Quality Engineers with coordinating and implementing projects, (2) Collaborate with Engineering to solve quality issues, (3) Maintain shop floor jig, tools and equipment, (4) Support Continuous Improvement Projects, (5) Provides reports on quality metrics.

JOB DUTIES

  • Support calibration and metrology programs.
  • Performing daily inspection of workshop tools, jigs and equipment
  • Support quality engineers in quality KPI trending and analysis
  • Conduct research and provide improvement recommendations for existing processes.
  • May recommend changes in work instructions and standards to improve process efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support the Engineering team with New product/repair introduction, Change Orders (COs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), discrepant material notices (DMNs) Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPAs) and Corrective Action Report (CAR) activities
  • Collaborates with Supervisors and Managers to establish and maintain communication across departments to ensure a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Evaluate Quality metric using Microsoft tools and other software. (SAP, Datasweep, Power BI).
  • A typical day for you will include:
  • Collaborating with your managers and team to complete role-related assignments and projects.
  • Actively engaging in and adding value to meetings and discussions.
  • Engaging in other duties, as necessary.
