Description:

Ausenco is a fast-growing, big-thinking company. We redefine what is possible in some of the world’s most complex projects and challenging environments. We deliver innovative solutions through high value-added consulting studies; project execution; asset operation and maintenance optimization. From 26 offices in 15 countries, with projects in more than 80 locations worldwide, we create sustainable results for our people, clients and communities.
At Ausenco, we are on the hunt for a Coastal Engineer who is not just technically adept but also possesses a keen sense of business strategy. This pivotal role is centered on guiding, crafting, and overseeing coastal facility initiatives, alongside spearheading efforts in business development to broaden our clientele and project scope.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Design and Expertise: Crafting initial concept designs, conducting preliminary calculations, compiling material summaries, drafting specifications, and establishing design guidelines. Engage in in-depth coastal engineering computations and analyses to aid in the development and design of coastal defense mechanisms, ports, and maritime facilities. This involves determining structural wave loads, executing wave-structure interaction simulations, and evaluating coastal dynamics and risks.
  • Project Leadership: Overseeing project operations and related activities, which include field investigations, data examination, simulation, interpretation, and analysis of marine and coas phenomena such as wave patterns, currents, sea levels, and sediment dynamics.
  • Innovation in Solutions: Employing cutting-edge coastal engineering techniques to address challenges posed by natural coastal threats (e.g., flooding, erosion, sedimentation, tsunamis) and human activities (e.g., pollution, brine dispersal, waste management) within the context of climate change.
  • Fieldwork Oversight: Directing and participating in field operations for site assessments and data gathering, inclusive of coastal and offshore reconnaissance and inspection of maritime and harbor structures.
  • Growth and Development: Actively partaking in business development pursuits, utilizing technical knowledge to pinpoint opportunities, and fostering robust client and stakeholder relationships to transform opportunities into project ventures.
