Responsibilities:

As a Kitchen Assistant you will carry out various tasks in the kitchen. You’ll need to be enthusiastic and hard-working, and in return Coffeeangel will provide you with plenty of opportunities to learn new skills and develop your skills. You MUST be available to work night shifts.

Key responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to the following:

  • Check all kitchen and floor areas are free from waste / rubbish.
  • Ensure all deliveries are accountable and safely stored away.
  • Check fridge temperatures each morning and afternoon.
  • Help unload food and equipment deliveries.
  • Support other employees eg: Bakery Chef with daily duties.
  • Carrying out basic cleaning tasks as fast as possible.
  • Collecting and washing up pots and pans.
  • Cleaning crockery & cutlery and ensuring food preparation sites are clean and ready.
  • Ensuring the storeroom remains organised.
  • Making sure work surfaces, floors and walls are always clean and sanitised.
  • Maintain good stock rotation in all fridges/freezers and dry goods area and ensure a good hygiene policy.
  • Implement a daily housekeeping plan on all kitchen equipment and in the general area
  • To undertake any other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time.
  • Maintain up-to-date records, as dictated by HACCP policies and procedures.
  • Report any mechanical defects and repair requirements.
  • Maintain familiarity and comply with all policies and procedures in relation to your duty as a Kitchen Porter.
  • Comply with all safety regulations in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and maintain a hazard-free environment. Also, read and understand the Food Safety Policy
