We are currently seeking a dedicated Collaborative Integrated Design System (CIDS) Software Engineer to join our team in Dam Neck, VA.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.
  • 3-8 years of experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with the command pattern in software development and NodeJS/Gulp.
  • Demonstrated experience with:
  • Major software version upgrades/end-of-life management.
  • Full stack web development.
  • Front-end experience (AngularJS)
  • API/ORM experience (Django/DRF)
  • DBA Experience (MS SQL Server)
  • Software modernization
  • Technical debt management
  • Exposure to the following:
  • Operating in a scrum software development lifecycle.
  • Developing simple data visualizations (ex: ChartJS, d3js, Raphael).
  • DevOps and the build/release process. Understanding of PowerShell or similar common scripting languages.
  • ETL pipelines and importing data from external sources (ex: Excel Spreadsheets imported, transformed, and inserted into the database).
  • System administration on the Windows / Windows Server platforms.
  • Git software version control.
  • Change control board process.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Scrum master experience, managing technical projects via a plan of action/milestones.
  • Experience in developing data visualizations (e.g., ChartJS, d3js, Raphael) and DevOps.
  • Experience developing and maintaining ETL pipelines and system administration on Windows 10/Windows Server 2016/2019 platforms.
  • Proficiency in maintaining a Git repository.
  • Experience isolating software/network/database bottlenecks and optimizing web server environments.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • US Citizen with an Active Secret Clearance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, working at a desk or computer terminal
  • Capable of occasional travel to various locations as required for the position

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and management support for CIDS software programs and applications, including project planning, scheduling, tracking progress, monitoring, reporting, risk management, documentation development, and reporting.
  • Mitigate/correct merge conflicts and issues committed to the master branch.
  • Identify and report technical risks upstream.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with senior government officials and senior private shipyard personnel to identify their technical needs.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders to define requirements and deliver a software product that accurately meets their needs.
