Description:

Accounts Receivable Reconciliation & Analysis

  • Prepare and analyze monthly accounts receivable reconciliations
  • Prepare and analyze provision for doubtful accounts and other A/R month-end reports

Collections & Customer Communication

  • Provide support to the Finance team in understanding, investigating and resolving Accounts Receivable collection issues
  • Notify customers of overdue payments and accounts by telephone, mail, and email – including timely follow up if a reply is not received
  • Develop payment plans and negotiate debt payments
  • Document and track in system all collection activities
  • Strengthen and develop relationships with customers by professionally handling customer inquiries, including providing detailed customer reconciliations and statements as required, resolving payment disputes, and processing payments and refunds

Internal Communications

  • Liaise with all sites when necessary to resolve customer discrepancies with sales contracts

Performance Improvement and Process Optimization

  • Recommend further action or discontinuation of product and service on occasions where payment is not forthcoming
  • Assist in streamlining and optimizing the Accounts Receivable and collection processes by identifying areas for performance improvement

Reporting and Documentation

  • Preparing ad-hoc reports related to collection work
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent background or other related disciplines; or equivalent combination of work experience, training and education · At least three (3) years of proven experience in accounts receivable and collections · Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly related to accounts receivable management and collections · Excellent interpersonal, oral communication, and time management skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal stakeholders · Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem solving abilities and negotiating skills · Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Navision would be an asset · Ability to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks and work with minimal supervision · Must work effectively in a team environment · Able to meet deadlines and demonstrate initiative · Dedicated, able to learn new tasks and software quickly · Responsible and reliable · Intermediate proficiency of Windows and Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
