Description:

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Collections Specialist in the Financial Services industry, based in FREDERICKSBURG, Virginia, 22407, United States. As a Collections Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing and collecting outstanding customer debts. You will also ensure that customer accounts are accurate and up-to-date, and you will provide exceptional service to all customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Grow account volume by effectively soliciting customers, both in person and over the phone.
  • Comply with all company policies and state and federal lending regulations.
  • Minimize delinquent debt through efficient and effective telephone collection activities.
  • Accurately post all payments and fees to customer accounts in line with company policy.
  • Accurately enter loan application and document data.
  • Process and sign checks for loans, branch expenses, and money remittances.
  • Close loans as directed by the Manager.
  • Utilize Microsoft and Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting.
  • Utilize skills in Collections - Consumer, Credit - Collections, Self-Pay Collections, Soft-Pay Collections, and Collections - Commercial to effectively manage and collect debts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in keyword research.
  • Knowledge of collections processes, including consumer, commercial, self-pay, and soft-pay collections.
  • Familiarity with credit collections and cash collections.
  • Ability to collect outstanding payments and manage collection operations.
  • Experience in commercial collections and debt collection.
  • Understanding of Fair Debt Collection Practices.
  • Capable of assisting customers, collecting customer feedback, managing customer invoices, and promoting customer retention and satisfaction.
  • Experience in a call center environment, including knowledge of call center metrics and operations.
  • Ability to handle sales calls and billing collection.
  • Understanding of account balance and account reconciliation.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, high volume, inbound call center is preferred.
  • Prior experience in collections management is a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure situations in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team as well as independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must possess a customer-centric approach to tasks.
  • Proven track record in meeting and exceeding targets and deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced financial services environment.
