An exciting, unique opportunity has arisen for a Colposcopy clinical nurse specialist (CNS) post, 30 hours per week, to join the Colposcopy (Ambulatory Gynaecology) team at University Hospitals Southampton NHS Trust. The successful candidate will work very closely with the consultant and multi-disciplinary team at the Princess Anne Hospital to further develop the role and service and would be supported by the senior nursing team.
We are looking for an experienced colposcopy nurse with British Society of Colposcopist and Cervical Pathologists (BSCCP) accreditation or within 6 months of completion.

Provide a high quality assessment, diagnostic for women referred to the Colposcopy service without direct medical supervision/independently but in accordance with local and BSCCP National Guidelines.
Act as a resource for women and the clinical and administrative teams by provision of comprehensive advice, information, teaching and training.
To act as a resource for patients, GP’s and colleagues at UHS NHS Trust including via telephone and email.
Review patient diagnostic laboratory results, interpreting and actioning clinician instructions.
Undertake where appropriate, nursing research with published outcomes and updating own knowledge to promote excellence in clinical practice, and the setting of quality standards within Colposcopy.
Contribute to formulating reports and clinical audit of own practice, service and outcomes.
Active involvement in the development of the Gynaecology service.
Active Involvement in improving patient pathway and patient experience

- Princess Anne Outpatient Services – a variety of busy outpatient clinic settings serving a wide range of services including Breast, Gynaecology and Maternity.
- Bramshaw Women’s Unit, Day Surgery Unit, Theatres and Recovery
- Women’s ultrasound services
