Responsibilities:
THE ROLE IS BASED OUT OF OUR WITNEY OFFICE IN OXFORDSHIRE AND TYPICALLY A MINIMUM OF 3 DAYS PER WEEK IN THE OFFICE IS REQUIRED.
Joining our team as a Commercial Finance Analyst offers a fantastic entry point into the world of finance. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience and insights into various financial functions, setting a solid foundation for a successful career in the finance sector.
THE ROLE
As the Commercial Finance Analyst, you will be a key part of Audley’s Commercial Finance team, providing analysis of business performance and insights to support decision making across the organisation ranging from day-to-day trading to strategic initiatives empowered through KPI reporting, ad hoc analysis and commercial support. You will interface regularly with the Finance Leadership team and with managers across the UK Sales & Service team and Group support functions, including Marketing, Product, Operations, HR and Technology, to provide actionable insights to support Audley’s performance management capabilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- To assist the Senior Commercial Finance Analyst in the provision of robust analysis, commercial support and financial rigour to the UK business to help drive the best decision making that will support the delivery of strong and improving financial results
- Assist with regular financial performance reviews of the UK trading business and Group support functions
- Analyse pricing strategies, cost structures, and revenue streams to optimize profitability and identify areas for improvement
- Support the development of business cases and investment proposals for new initiatives, product launches, and strategic partnerships through analysis and modelling
- Assist in the preparation of UK and supporting business functions’ forecasting activities including budgets, forecasts and strategic plans
- Support FP&A’s reporting of divisional performance to the Board through commentary & insight of commercial performance vs. budget
- Support the BAU reporting and compliance cycle, i.e. the production and delivery of data, analysis and PowerPoint presentations for key stakeholders (Board, Management, Lenders and Regulators)
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a numerate and analytical field. (Master’s degree or relevant equivalent accountancy certifications would be an advantage)
- Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel to perform data analysis and simple financial modelling (experience with other data analytics tools such as PowerBI or Tableau is not essential but advantageous)
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and present findings to stakeholders at various levels of the organisation
- Self-starter, independent, proactively seeks out new opportunities to improve our business and ways of working and is comfortable with change.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- A desire to contribute to the success of a dynamic and fast-paced organisation.
- Good understanding of Office 365 including MS Word, Excel, SharePoint and Outlook
