The position is based in our Leopardstown, Dublin HQ on a hybrid working basis and offers wide support through your exams, and also the opportunity to develop a career within Commercial Affairs Finance and introduce to working at a global organization.
The role of the Commercial Finance team at ICON is the pre & post award negotiation and management of commercial terms, holistically at both partnership and transactional levels, that maximize downstream financial and operational performance and minimize the associated legal and contractual risks.

Responsibilities:

ATTENTION TO DETAIL IS OF PARAMOUNT IMPORTANCE TO THIS ROLE AS YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CONDUCTING IN-DEPTH FINANCIAL ANALYSIS THAT WILL BE REVIEWED AND USED FOR DECISION MAKING BY OUR TEAM OF HIGH-LEVEL SENIOR MANAGEMENT. ANALYTICAL EXPERTISE WILL PLAY A CRUCIAL ROLE IN PROVIDING ACCURATE AND RELIABLE INSIGHT, ENABLING OUR EXECUTIVES TO MAKE INFORMED DECISIONS THAT DRIVE THE SUCCESS OF OUR ORGANIZATION. THE ABILITY TO METICULOUSLY REVIEW AND VALIDATE FINANCIAL DATA, IDENTIFY KEY TRENDS, AND PRODUCE COMPREHENSIVE REPORTS IS ESSENTIAL.

As part of this role, the individual will assist in the development of commercial deals for strategic partnerships and individual clients, going beyond analysis to offering solutions.

THE FINANCIAL ANALYST DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Assist in developing commercial offerings, including discounting structure, payment terms, incentives and other client requests.
  • Assist with commercial negotiations during the bid defense process; make decisions in line with agreed ICON policy.
  • Offer commercial recommendations and solutions to senior management
  • Point person for prompt response to ad-hoc requests
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial and business case analyses using Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Partner externally with Client Finance and Outsourcing counterparts, and internal with Business Development, Proposals, Operations, Finance, Legal and Contracts.
  • Develop automated tools and trackers to improve the internal commercial offering review process.
  • Ensure integrity of the margin profiles and manage these rates to meet the commercial targets of the division
  • Ensure integrity of the pricing tools so as to ensure precision and accuracy for both internal analysis and client deliverables
  • Effective utilization of available financial and operational tools and data to aid better decision making
  • Travel (approximately 5%) domestic and/or international.
