InYourArea is seeking a passionate and experienced Business Development Manager, to accelerate our direct commercial growth strategy and make a significant impact within our organisation. The role will prioritise long-term, scalable and commercial partnerships, that will leverage both existing and conceptual products and services that will deliver value for our clients, the business and, just as importantly, for our audience.
This is a hybrid role, ideally you will be based in the North West and will be flexible to travel when required.

Job Description

Reporting to InYourArea’s Head of Commercial and Senior Leadership Team, your focus will be on researching and identifying new business opportunities, or new ways of reaching existing markets, growth sectors and marketing trends. This is a brand new role in the team providing you with the opportunity to be our sales expert, and comes with many exciting responsibilities including:

  • Building a pipeline of potential clients, identifying their needs and aligning those to existing opportunities, whilst also using your insight to help shape and direct the development of new commercial solutions that add value for our clients and our audience.
  • Working collaboratively with our internal teams, including product, commercial and B2B marketing, you’ll be responsible for creating engaging and exciting sales materials.
  • Utilising your negotiation skills to close significant value deals (with a focus on longer-term revenue generating partnerships, including direct commercial, affiliate or revenue share deals).
  • Travelling to meet with clients and also attend relevant industry events
  • You’ll use your expertise to stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape to inform your approach.

Qualifications
As our Business Development Manager, you’ll need to be product minded, understanding the current and potential offerings and be able to resell existing and upcoming features to clients, whilst also being able to gather requirements for new and well-funded opportunities.

You’ll be comfortable working collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders to help shape commercial opportunities, whilst also being confident in your ability to identify, pursue and secure clients and partnerships that unlock new revenue streams and maximise the value of our audience across the UK. In addition you will ideally possess the following:

  • Prior experience in sales.
  • Great communication skills, translating products and services into commercial messages that resonate with potential clients
  • An understanding of how to leverage technical solutions, including emerging technologies (ie. AI) to maximise value.
  • Strong organisation skills, allowing you to work in a fast-paced environment and a creative mind, with the ability to think outside the box and help identify gaps in the market.
  • Experience working in the Google suite is ideal but not essential.
  • UK driving licence
