Commercial Lender - Support

Our client is in search of a temporary Commercial Real Estate Underwriter to join our team in the banking industry, located in the New Providence, New Jersey Area. The role focuses on evaluating and underwriting commercial real estate loans within our established risk tolerance and underwriting standards. You will be instrumental in conducting financial analysis, risk assessment, and real estate valuation, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of our commercial lending operations.

• Conduct comprehensive financial analysis of potential commercial real estate transactions including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections.
• Evaluate the creditworthiness of borrowers and assess risk associated with each commercial real estate loan application.
• Analyze property appraisals, market trends, and comparable property sales to assess the value and potential risks associated with the underlying collateral.
• Ensure all commercial real estate loans adhere to the company’s underwriting guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Perform thorough due diligence on borrowers, properties, and market conditions to identify potential risks and mitigants.
• Prepare comprehensive underwriting packages including credit memos, risk assessments, and loan recommendations for presentation to senior management or credit committees.
• Collaborate with loan officers, credit analysts, and other stakeholders to gather information, resolve issues, and facilitate the underwriting process.
• Stay updated on industry regulations, guidelines, and best practices to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
• Monitor and review existing commercial real estate loans to assess ongoing credit risk and performance.

• Demonstrable experience in the Savings & Loan banking industry
• Familiarity with the role of a Commercial Lender and the ability to provide effective support
• Proficiency in using 3M, CapEx, CRM, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, and ERP Solutions
• Experience with ‘About Time’ software
• Understanding of Budget Processes and Commercial Finance
• Ability to deliver top-tier Customer Service
• Strong foundational knowledge in Finance
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
