We are introducing a new role of Commercial Manager – Roofing. This role has full accountability for category performance and creating growth by developing the branch ranges, setting the right prices, supporting negotiations for the best deals, and influencing trade through branches and account teams.
As a Commercial team our purpose is to “Maximise Profitability, while building a category offering that enables us to effectively supply everything our customers need”.
Our Commercial Managers play a pivotal role in enabling the team to fulfil its potential and we believe a strong leader will make all the difference in driving success and fostering a positive work relationship with branches.

Responsibilities:

  • To own the Roofing category proposition.
    The 6 core areas of focus

Range

  • Influence the right ranges and aged stock levels to keep stock turning and allow buying gains to be maximised.
  • Liaise with branches to manage and maintain stock levels aligned to their customers’ requirements; by working closely with Suppliers allocations and availability of product

Procurement

  • Provide advice on appropriate procurement strategies for the category.
  • Design and execute category management plans.

Pricing

  • Responsible for pricing accuracy of product data, ensuring submission of regular price files from suppliers.

Marketing

  • Contribute to the business trade planner with category deals and influence our eCommerce offer.

Trade

  • Drive the category margin performance through branches and account managers, building relationships to leverage the best opportunities.
  • Analysis KPIs and demonstrate progress delivering annual objectives.

Working with others

  • Build branches confidence that the category offering is competitive and suitable to trade.
  • Develop a strong team of Customer Sales Consultants who will confidently deal with customers enquiries and orders from start to finish
