Roughan & O’Donovan (ROD) is looking to recruit commercial managers to provide commercial input to multidisciplinary, civil engineering projects on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will join a talented team with a reputation for delivering complex design projects across Ireland and the UK. Working closely with existing and new clients, you will provide commercial input to multidisciplinary, civil engineering projects and help grow our business by supporting group directors and bid teams.
The role will provide you with the opportunity to develop your skills to the highest industry standards whilst advancing your professional development under the guidance of experienced mentors.
From road and rail schemes to award-winning cable-stayed bridges to small footbridges and culverts, our team output combines engineering excellence with graceful design. Our services cover the entire cycle of engineering services from option selection, preliminary and detailed design, statutory process, procurement, supervision of construction through to inspection, maintenance and rehabilitation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development, implementation, and management of efficient and effective commercial procedures in conjunction with the project directors
  • Financial management of projects from early projects stages to completion, including but not limited to:
  • budget and cost control
  • preparing payment applications and cash flow reporting
  • ongoing cost planning, monitoring and reporting of the progress, budgets, costs, and revenue for the allocated projects
  • preparing actions, contract submissions, assessments, and projections for future work
  • liaising with the Accounts department on invoicing
  • managing risk in conjunction with the project directors
  • supporting the technical team in delivering projects with commercial input
  • scheduling
  • contract document preparation and administration of contracts and sub-contracts with clients and subcontractors
  • assisting in bid preparation aimed at winning new business with existing and new clients
  • interacting with clients from local and national authorities, consultants, and D&B contractors amongst others
