ABOUT US

The Commercial Partnerships Team pioneers innovative brand partnerships across the world class TfL portfolio of assets and initiatives.
The team is dedicated to generating new and growing revenue from creative partnerships, activations and experiential which range from Santander’s sponsorship of the London Cycle Hire Scheme to promotions such as the PlayStation takeover of Oxford Circus, Station renames such as Amazon Prime rename of Piccadilly Circus to Picardilly Circus and most recently Samsung’ activation reimaging the iconic Harry Beck tube map for the Circle to Search promotion. The team is leading much needed commercial innovation across the public sector and fast establishing itself as a major commercial rights holder.
TfL Commercial Partnerships is a team of 6, 4 Commercial Partnerships Managers, 1 Delivery and Operations Manager and 1 Lead. The team is accountable for delivering an annual revenue target from new partnerships, delivering the partnership/activation, and providing first class client service.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Understanding of LU Assurance Processes e.g., Heritage, Fire, Crime & Disorder, EQIA

  • Understanding of other commercial media opportunities
  • Understanding of TfL procurement processes
  • SAP Ariba and SAP R/3

Responsibilities:

  • Partnership / Activation and Planning: advising on the operational feasibility, considerations, and costs for all partnership / activation proposals that the team take to market.
  • Partnership / Activation Delivery: developing and managing the overall project plan, ensuring that relevant stakeholders, internal teams, external suppliers, and the client are aware of their responsibilities. You will also manage delivery of the partnership/activation, manage interdependencies, and identify risks and mitigations. This will include engagement with all operational and internal/external stakeholders securing all required approvals for the activity. The role will also be responsible for procuring, appointing and managing all third-party supplier partners required to deliver the activity e.g. Links, AJ Wells, Telent.
  • Financial Management and Reporting: Managing the income and expenditure relating to each partnership/ activation ensuring TfL receives the income, that suppliers are paid on time and that we report our financial position periodically, quarterly, and annually
  • Audit compliance and Continuous improvement: Ensuring our systems, processes and recording are adhered to and that our operations are robust and would be considered “well controlled” by TfL Internal Audit. The role would lead, and document “Lessons Learned” process at the end of each activation and embed any lessons into future projects, it will also review and update (quarterly) the Commercial Partnerships Risk Register
