Description:

Position Overview
The Commercial Sales Director has responsibility for the overall commercial growth in Mexico by leading the Sales team that supports regional business strategy, maintaining knowledge of the market, and developing a strategic plan for growth.
Expectations include the ability to effectively lead a team and build both internal, external and cross regional relationships that position the organization for growth. Experience in developing customer centric selling approaches in a sales team, effectively selling products and services, and assisting customers in problem solving to deliver solutions is key to success.
This position has leadership responsibility for the management of service levels for customers. Additionally, this role provides input and support on initiatives to improve gross margins of the business. The role will develop and implement strategies for continued optimization of the distribution network, ensuring it is aligned with customer service level requirements and customer segmentation strategies, as well as the identification of cost savings opportunities and overall management of inventory levels.
The ideal individual in this role is a thought leader who performs independently and has demonstrated the ability to effectively interact and influence at all levels of organizations. This role typically reports to VP or equivalent.
This position will require domestic travel, as well as occasional international travel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, chemistry, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years’ experience in distribution, sales, operations, including experience leading others
  • 7+ years’ experience in strategic planning, developing and managing a budget and operating plan, and aligning Sales and Supply Chain goals with delivery of the annual operating plan commitments.
  • Proven track record in developing comprehensive relationships at all levels across organizations
  • Demonstrated effective goal setting to achieve strategic business objectives through focused, motivational leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to be highly strategic in planning for current needs and anticipating future direction, as well as perceptive and innovative in identifying opportunities for value creation.
  • Complex thinking skills in translating customer and supplier needs into solutions.
  • Technical aptitude with broad knowledge of solutions, materials and processing.
  • Demonstrated analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Experience in the polymers / elastomers industries and with Salesforce CRM is beneficial but not required

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the sales process with a high degree of professionalism and effectiveness through successful utilization of customer centric selling skills, supporting tools and processes.
  • Create an environment where a highly motivated and engaged team thrives. Lead overall commercial efforts to drive sales growth. Develop and communicate annual sales targets for sales teams and individual sales associates.
  • Coordinate across sales, purchasing and laboratory to develop, onboard, and sell new materials to existing and new customers.
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen in managing a P&L. Develop short- and long-term sales forecasts for product lines and implement the business plan to achieve forecast.
  • Perform market share analysis and preparation of recommendations for increasing market share.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers to identify and negotiate new product opportunities. Identify suppliers to drive business growth, ensuring greater responsiveness to the market and competitive threats.
  • Maintain first-hand knowledge of technology changes, material development and marketplace conditions and effectively facilitate related presentations at sales meetings.
  • Serve as a member of the Commercial Leadership team and contribute to global Sales initiatives as needed.
