Element, a well-established organization that touches billions of lives, is searching for a Customer & Commercial Solution Architect, based in London to define and deliver the future state architecture for our customer-facing business.
To guide Element in this journey we require an experienced architect with a track record of /Commercial/Marketing/Digital transformation.
Experience with eCommerce, Configure, Price & Quote (CPQ), Quote to Cash, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions is desirable.
This role will support the Commercial function and provide strategy, roadmaps, leadership to enable this journey. Experience with a digital ecosystem that maximises the use of data science, machine learning and modern AI solutions would make for an ideal candidate.
You will lead a team of Architects delivering architecture & designs for multiple customer-facing solutions which will include the whole sales lifecycle through multiple channels. You will work closely with peers (EAs and SAs), in-house development teams and 3rd party suppliers to transform the existing customer-facing platforms. Across the deliverables, re-use of designed and delivered artefacts will be essential. Working in an Agile environment, the Architect is a hands-on team member who actively supports Architects and developers.
Responsibilities:

You will:

  • Accelerate digitalization by working closely with key stakeholders to develop the digital strategy, roadmaps and partner with implementation teams to ensure the successful delivery of the digital platforms
  • Hands-on role leading and supporting Digital Architecture Design & Development teams to
  • Element Customer Portals and AppsPerform digital architecture governance function by conducting formal reviews of the project artefacts to ensure alignment with the overall digital architecture vision
  • Works with tech leads and teams as part of a multi-skilled Agile Squad to deliver End to End Digital Solution Architectures
  • Reviewing and managing Solution Architecture deliverables generated by the Digital Design team
  • Governance responsibility to ensure team alignment with enterprise guidelines for design standards, design templates, Architecture reviews and security
  • Help define and improve best practices, guidelines and integration with other enterprise solutions

Skills / Qualifications:

As our Enterprise Architect you will:

  • Create the future-state Customer-facing, product centric architecture vision that allows Element to sell & deliver its products to Customers through multiple channels
  • Develop the technology strategy & roadmaps that will deliver against this architecture vision.
  • Partner with delivery teams to ensure our Customer & Commercial solutions are aligned to the architecture vision and roadmaps.
  • Lead a team of architects (EA & SA) that will deliver the design solutions within multiple programmes and projects.
  • Provide technical leadership of multiple development teams ensuring the right methods, tools and solutions are delivered, in a highly coordinated and integrated manner.
  • Lead the governance of the solutions using existing processes & functions (Architecture Review Board etc.) and self-governing processes (Design Authority etc.)
  • Collaborate with the wider Enterprise Architecture team to ensure solutions are delivered in-line with our Enterprise Principles, Standards, Design Patterns etc. but also contributing to these through specific project deliverables (re-use).
  • Help define and improve best practices, guidelines and integration with other enterprise solutions.

Key Skills:

  • Experience of Architecture, Design and Development in customer-facing operating environments.
  • Knowledge of products & solutions that support developing and selling products through multiple
  • Digital solutions / channels (e.g. SalesForce, Magento, Shopify etc.)
  • A good knowledge of the practical application of Enterprise and Solution architecture, preferably using one of the recognised frameworks (TOGAF etc.)
  • Experience of creating complex Customer-facing solutions using modern methods and technologies, ideally using GenAI.
  • Experience of design using open source and other components including GraphQL, PGSQL, OpenFGA, NodeJS, React, NoSQL, Prometheus, Grafana, GitLab, Azure AD, Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Proficiency in web-related technologies (Web Applications, Web Services, eCommerce, cloud computing (Azure) and Service Oriented Architectures including network/web related protocols.
  • Experience working in Agile Development environments.
  • Team Leadership experience essential particularly working in matrixed organisations.
