Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Commis Chef for a six-month, fixed-term contract to join our dynamic culinary team. You will prepare delicious cuisine across breakfast, lunch, dinner, room service, functions, and buffet service. The role involves maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment, ensuring high-quality and well-presented dishes, preparing and managing mise en place, and adhering to strict stock rotation to minimize wastage. You will be responsible for stock control procedures, maintaining, servicing, and cleaning equipment, and reporting any issues to the Executive Chef.
Key aspects of the role are organizing and efficiently managing your assigned section, ensuring all food produced meets kitchen recipes and standards, and correctly storing and handling food in compliance with health regulations. Additionally, you will monitor daily kitchen food and product requirements, and assist and liaise with the chef on duty. Qualifications

  • Trade qualifications and previous experience in the hotel industry preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety requirements
  • Service oriented with an eye for detail
  • Time management skills with the ability to multitask
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of team members
  • Flexible and able to embrace and respond effectively to change
