A Commis 1 at Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre is responsible for preparing and presenting high quality dishes to deliver an excellent Guest experience.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

As a Commis 1 at Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre you will be assisting in the daily operations, including the preparation of mis-en-place and production. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Knowledge of the individual menu items including basic ingredients, methods of preparation, and presentation style.
  • Maintain kitchen hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Gain basic knowledge of all outlets in hotel.
  • Responsible for mise en place.
  • Taste and examine food prepared for freshness and required quality.
  • Set up section as required by Chef De Partie and Sous Chef.
  • Be responsible for minimizing food wastage.
  • Attend and comprehend all information discussed at the briefing sessions.
  • Be pro-actively involved in the hotel’s operation keeping up-to-date with events within the hotel.

  • Previous experience as a Commis Chef
  • Positive attitude.

  • Proven ability to work with a team and to follow instruction.
  • A passion to learn and a drive to succeed in a culinary/hospitality career and the culinary arts.
  • Proof of completion in a basic food hygiene course.
