POSITION OVERVIEW

CenerTech Canada Ltd. is seeking a Commissioning and Start-up Process operators for projects. As a Process Operator, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the plant process equipment whether you are based at our client site. This includes interacting with and supporting the Maintenance, Technical, and Health, Safety, Environmental and Social Responsibility teams within the Oilsands Division of the North American business.

Responsibilities:

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

This specific role will be focused on supporting projects in our operations projects group.

As a contract Operator to our facility your contributions will include, but not be limited to,

  • Maintain commissioning and start up schedule preparing SAGD well pads/wells and associated pipelines, vessels, pumps and auxiliaries for start up.
  • Attend planning and organization meetings, PHA, Hazops, change reviews.
  • Provide input to expedite and align activities for project O2 free, gross leaks, initial fuel gas charge, and prestart execution.
  • Develop, revise and approve commissioning, start up and operating procedures, plans LOTOs and other required plans.
  • Refine start up work flows, and adjust as conditions demand.
  • Execute commissioning activities lead and mentor crews warmup, first steam in circulation mode with vapour and emulsion returns systems.
  • Operate following initial start up,
  • Advise and train client workforce regarding specific and generic operations of facility.
  • Adhering and enforcing safety policies and procedures;
  • Communicating between the Control Room Operator (CRO) and Field Operator (FO) within the Unit across areas and with the Unit Leader and Superintendent;
  • Conducting assigned activities in accordance to approved directives and procedures;
  • Run to Target, report deviations in the e-log and escalate to your supervisor for assistance as required;
  • Managing abnormal situations by initiating a controlled hierarchy of Stabilize/Slowdown/Shutdown (SSS);
  • Participating in and completing required training to achieve a high level of understanding and competency;

  • An inter-provincial 2nd class Power Engineering Certificate is preferred; 3rd and 4th class along with extensive relevant experience will be considered
  • a minimum of 5+ years of plant/field experience, preferably in a SAGD commissioning
  • Experience in hands-on support of operations technical, and maintenance work teams;
  • Have the ability to comprehend a situation and identify underlying causes, use knowledge and experience to tackle the issues;
  • Strong organization planning and new infrastructure development skills;
  • Must have MS Office skills (Word, Excel and Outlook);
  • Good written and verbal communication
