DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Commodity Manager, you will oversee procurement functions and assigned commodities, providing direction and supervision to a team of procurement associate managers, specialists, technicians, and clerical staff. This includes the negotiation and maintenance of contracts or agreements, coordination with legal personnel to ensure procurement policies and practices are incompliance, and ongoing research to promote efficiency, support cost reduction without any negative impact on quality, and effectively account for short-term and long-term factors. You will also have the opportunity perform a full range of managerial duties and responsibilities as well as develop and provide technical assistance and training to staff and suppliers. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • One year as an Associate Commodity Manager; or
  • Three years of experience as a Purchasing Agent 3; or
  • Two years of experience as a Purchasing Agent 4; or
  • Four years of strategic procurement experience in supply chain management, including two years as a supervisor and a bachelor’s degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training including two years as a supervisor in a supply chain management environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NOT REQUIRED):

  • Willing and able to work in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
  • Two or more years of experience as a supervisor in a supply chain management environment.
  • Indicate the level of education you possess.
  • Indicate the field in which you have a degree, if any.
  • Three or more years of experience in Supply Chain Management.
  • Three or more years of experience as a Purchasing Manager.
  • Three or more years of experience developing and managing vehicle Procurement of Strategic Sourcing Strategies for enterprise-wide contracts.
  • Three or more years of experience developing and leading negotiation strategies.
  • Three or more years of experience managing diverse teams.
  • Indicate any procurement certifications you possess.
