About the Role
We currently have a great opportunity for a Commodity Procurement Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Commodity, you will be responsible for buying wheat and specialty commodities.

This position plays a critical role within our Grain Procurement team, providing insights on sector and price relativities, aligning with strategy, understanding hedging and flat price risk while supporting the overall business unit. Other main responsibilities include:

  • Forming relationships with targeted growers and key service providers to ensure quality and continuity of supply
  • Liaising with Operations and Quality across sites on requirements of wheat grades
  • Work closely with Finance collaborating on budgets and monitoring costs

This role will be based at Enfield, NSW and will require extensive travel nationally.
About You
The ideal candidate will be experienced in working in a similar capacity across a commodity and have a keen eye for detail, with the ability to clearly communicate through daily interactions with team members and to customers around business outcomes, updates and initiatives.
Commodity analytical experience will be highly regarded along with a very strong understanding of hedging and trading a commodity.

Experience in commodities is essential, as you will be required to effectively negotiate with long term business partners for win-win outcomes. Other requirements include:

  • Excellent communicator with ability to forge relationships across multiple levels of stakeholders
  • Team player with a desire for team achievement
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively
  • A measured approach with very high attention to detail
  • A willingness to embrace technology and bring creative solutions to the team table
