Description:
ABOUT OUR FACULTY
2024 is an exciting time to join the University of Manchester and the Faculty of Humanities as we mark our bicentenary year, celebrating 200 years of learning, innovation and research.
The Faculty of Humanities is the largest Faculty in the University. We have around 22,000 taught students, 1,350 academic staff and 650 professional services staff, and an annual income of more than £350 million. The Faculty is made up of four Schools, and our graduates and our research positively contribute to the world around us and impact all areas of society.
Our world-leading academics tackle global issues such as environmental sustainability, climate change, poverty, and conflict response and help bring solutions to some of the most pressing issues facing the world today, and in the future.
Responsibilities:
Based in the Faculty’s Marketing, Communications and Recruitment department, you will support the Communications and Content Manager in delivering effective internal communications and staff engagement across the Faculty, as well as supporting our four Schools to develop and deliver engaging and informative communications.
You will play a leading role in developing and implementing an effective programme of internal communications and employee engagement. This will include communications planning, newsgathering and writing content for a wide range of internal channels, including the Humanities staff eNewsletter and intranet. You will also lead on a range of staff engagement activities and events, such as the Faculty’s annual leadership conference and regular staff open meetings.
You will act as the first point of contact for Faculty internal communications enquiries and will work collaboratively with colleagues in the wider Faculty Communications and Content team, the Faculty, Schools and central University communications functions.
