Description:

An opportunity has arisen for a Communications Assistant to work on the Southern Integrated Delivery project based in Tonbridge.
With the SID, the Southern Region seeks to make a transformational change in how renewals work is delivered, by merging the capabilities of Network Rail and its supply chain to develop an integrated and coordinated approach to delivery.
We are looking to recruit a Communications Assistant to assist in delivering communications objectives for VolkerRail on the Southern Integrated Delivery Project.
The role is based in Tonbridge, where you will have an interface with the corporate communications business partner and SRE communications manager. The communications will help promote the work that VolkerRail is carrying out on the project building on its reputation; showcasing its successes, culture, people and capabilities, through various marketing and communication channels – both internally and externally.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Media monitoring
  • Weekly industry news reports
  • Writing and creating internal communications content for use on multiple platforms – both digital and print
  • Creating newsletters, brochures, leaflets and social media visuals
  • Assisting in the implementation of company campaigns
  • Writing, coordinating and publishing social media posts – Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn
  • Event management support
  • Taking project, event or people photography; set to brief
  • Using online analytics tools
  • Administration support
  • Managing and ordering corporate merchandise

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Those applying will ideally have the following experience/skill set:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience of working with social media and websites.
  • Hold a professional certificate in communications / PR or have experience within a similar role.
  • Possess a ‘can-do’ attitude, excellent organisational ability.
  • Have the ability to work with different groups, building long term relationships.
  • Ability to multi-task, and work to tight deadlines.
  • Adobe design package knowledge is desirable.
