We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven Communications Co-ordinator to join our Caledonian Sleeper family. This is a brilliant opportunity for a passionate and motivated Communications professional to work in a unique business, as we transition to a new way of working. This role will help drive our communications strategy, supporting a diverse network of stakeholders, and deliver meaningful communications to help our colleagues feel connected, informed and inspired.
This role will support the Communications Manager and the wider business at Caledonian Sleeper. It’s a really exciting time in our business, as we transition to a different way of working following our transition to Scottish Rail Holdings.
Caledonian Sleeper is an iconic brand with a heritage stretching back a century and a half to the early years of Scotland-London sleepers.
Part of an exclusive club, Caledonian Sleeper is one of only two sleeper trains in the UK, and we like to think it’s the most scenic! Whisking guests from the bright lights of London through the night to the iconic cities of Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Inverness, and Glasgow or to the jaw dropping scenery of the west Highlands of Scotland around Fort William.
This role is crucial in supporting our unique business, by working closely with key stakeholders to understand their communications needs, own and maintain the operational communications plan, create meaningful content, and be responsible for the development and upkeep of our intranet.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Lead on the development, upkeep and delivery of the Operational Comms plan.
Source, create and deliver key content for a range of channels, including operational updates, intranet news stories and yammer posts, in line with communications strategy.
Support stakeholders, with regular engagement to understand their communications needs, audience, and key messages.
Facilitate the delivery of colleague engagement initiatives, including our recognition programme, colleague events, and colleague feedback groups.
Story telling of our journey, having a keen eye for communication opportunities by working closely with the business, and your finger on the pulse by working with your network of stakeholders, to create meaningful communications in CSL tone of voice.
Editing and designing of SharePoint sites and developing graphic design and visual content
Any other duties as agreed with Line Manager
Take responsibility for own learning and development.
Comply with all CSL policies, financial regulations and all HR policies and procedures including Health & Safety and Equality & Diversity.

Responsibilities:

Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Experienced in digital communications and specifically SharePoint design.
Strong proofreading and editing abilities.
Adapts communication style to different audiences
Able to draft clear, concise, and engaging content across various formats.
A flexible team player with a high level of initiative
Capable of working on own projects and take responsibility of own workload
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a varied workload
Good organisational skills to ensure deadlines are achieved
Flexible Mindset
Ability to create, build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
Relevant education and/or experience in either public relations, journalism, marketing, media studies, or a related field which forms a strong foundation for the role.
Willing and able to travel on occasion where appropriate
