Description:
SUMMARY: The Communications Coordinator is responsible for managing internal and external communications for the organization. This role includes coordinating events, creating content, managing social media platforms, and maintaining relationships with stakeholders. The Communications Coordinator plays a crucial role in enhancing the organization’s visibility and promoting its mission. This position reports directly to the Senior Communications Coordinator.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field or an equivalent combination of experience and education, preferred;
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in an organization involved in property management or assisted housing;

Responsibilities:
The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties and/or skills required.
- Support the Senior Communications Coordinator in fostering strong media relationships for the authority by: Drafting news releases and advisories; providing imagery to local media outlets; presenting story concepts; assisting in the coordination of media events;
- Monitor CMHA social media coverage (google, facebook, etc..) and provide recommended responses:
- Create innovative strategic communication resources aimed at preserving a positive public perception for the authority;
- Contribute to the planning, promotion, and execution of special events;
- Create and design communication materials for both internal and external audiences, such as annual reports, brochures, and newsletters, etc.;
- Collect, organize, and analyze data to identify trends and patterns;
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate key insights and findings;
- Conduct research for available program funding opportunities. Prepare competitive applications and ensure all information is submitted timely;
- Research Department of Housing and Urban Development Program Regulations, and update management staff on important changes. Recommend internal policy revisions as needed to stay in compliance with regulatory requirement;
- Provide research, writing and special project support as needed;
- Facilitate collaboration among all departments to prepare and publish CMHA’s Administrative Plan and other reports mandated by HUD.
- Gather and analyze statistical data, and then generate user-friendly statistical reports; and
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
