Description:

DHL is seeking a motivated and organized individual for the position of Communications Manager, a full-time permanent role, with a focus on media relations and corporate internal communications for the Middle East & North Africa / Sub-Saharan Africa region.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the divisional communication initiatives. You will work with senior management, key internal stakeholders, and external media to positively shape the reputation of DHL Group and raise public awareness of the company’s capabilities and achievements.

Responsibilities:

  • Development of a communications plan suitable for DHL Group in the region, aligned with the Group’s global comms strategy.
  • Conducting and organizing press events, press trips, journalist meetings, media one-on-ones, etc.
  • Proactive media relations: Pitching, preparing, and supporting interviews for board members and thought leaders.
  • Reactive media relations: Handling of day-to-day media requests, managing crisis and emergency situations.
  • Internal communications: Producing and distributing internal newsletters, managing relevant content platforms and channels.
  • Social media: Developing content and engagement strategies for relevant social media channels.
  • Building strong relationships with general management and business stakeholders.
  • Monitoring of social, economic, and political trends, reporting about DHL’s media results and internal communications engagement performance.

Key Skills:

  • Strong stakeholder management experience.
  • Exceptional understanding of media and public relations.
  • Exceptional knowledge of crisis communications and reputation management.
  • Good understanding of the current social media landscape.
  • Proven professional experience in journalism or press work and corporate communications.
  • Extremely high level of editorial competence.
  • Strong writing and audiovisual production/design skills.
  • International mindset – ability to work across cultures and markets.
