Description:

Job Title: Communications Officer
Contract: Full-time; one year contract with extension subject to funding.
Salary: Salary range of €37,000 - €45,000 DOE
The Irish Family Planning Association (IFPA) is Ireland’s leading sexual health provider. We provide a wide range of services at our medical clinics and nationwide counselling centres, including specialist pregnancy counselling, abortion care, sexual and reproductive health services, and education and training.

The IFPA is a pro-choice organisation and supports a person’s own decision in all cases.
We are seeking suitably a qualified candidate to join our Advocacy and Communications team.. The role will be based in the IFPA’s Head Office in Dublin 2 with some remote home-working and occasional travel for events and to other IFPA locations. 9am - 5pm. The Communications Officer will develop and implement the IFPA’s communications strategy, and work collaboratively with the Director of Advocacy, colleagues on the Advocacy and Communications team, and, where necessary, the IFPA clinical teams.
The closing date for applications is Tuesday 4th June 2024. Interviews are expected to be held on Monday June 10th 2024 at the IFPA Head Office in Dublin 2.

DESIRABLE:

  • Marketing and advertising experience in the context of health promotion,
  • Professional communications background in in health, social policy, human rights, or politics,
  • Postgraduate degree in a relevant field,
  • Knowledge and understanding of, and commitment to, sexual and reproductive health and rights in Ireland,
  • Strong web content development and social media skills (Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram) in a professional/organisational context.
