About us: Strategic Communications is a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team that provides whole-of-agency and portfolio communications, manages corporate communication projects, provides effective communication tools, and offers advice and support to DJAG business units. It is comprised of two teams: - Communications (including Communications, Graphic Design and Online Services)- Media Relations
About the roleThe role provides communication, client management and project support work within Strategic Communications (SC), Department of Justice and Attorney General (DJAG). You will help (and lead where required) develop productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to progress DJAG goals.
You will assist to prepare a range of communication plans and tactics for internal and external audiences including preparing engaging written content for a variety of mediums (online, print, social), work with designers in developing creative assets and assist with event coordination and for stakeholders. You’ll assist to develop productive relationships with other DJAG business units so that communication tactics are evidence-based, accurate and developed with the guidance of subject matter experts.
Your key responsibilities- Work closely with Team Leaders and the Manager, Communications to resolve communication issues.- Actively contribute to the delivery of communication services, such as the development of communication plans, writing and editing publications/social content, website content, and intranet updates.- Manage a range of departmental clients requiring strategic communication and digital advice, development, and project management of specific communication strategies and whole-of-agency communication initiatives.- Manage the process from client brief to delivery of the project including oversight of graphic design, digital initiatives and website coordination for campaigns.- Contribute to the provision of creative solutions, design concepts, and digital artwork for internal clients.- Manage and evaluate the department’s participation in community and industry events and launches including the preparation of display materials as required.- Provide cost-effective solutions and recommend appropriate strategies across a wide range of strategic marketing and communication activities.- Ensure projects meet the required visual and digital style guidelines including the Queensland Government Corporate Identity guidelines and social media guidelines.
